Not really a translation issue Sep 13, 2009

Someone sent me a link to one of the articles for this news item today. The title of the article contained the phrase 'translation mistake', but I don't see the mistake here. The problem was with the alert message system, not with the translation.

Although I do believe that many companies who use translation only because they are required to don't take care for the translation to actually serve its purpose. That really is a shame, and this gaffe is an excellent illustration of it.
