This is advice that should be framed and hung on the wall behind each translator's computer screen to look at all day.

This is nothing new to me - it's actually common sense - but it seems that common sense is something we could use more of nowadays. I hope lots of translators - especially newbies and those who want to "get rich quick" - read this.

This is an interesting and useful insight.

It is reassuring to know that even given the constraints of considering 20+ quotes you say price is not everything, trust is more important.

In support of this, I have received a few responses accepting quotes I have given stating: "You were not the cheapest, but..."

It is always well worth stressing any directly relevant experience you have as a translator and for that you need to spend a little time looking at
