Trados certification: does it really help?

I would appreciate some input from people who have gotten Trados certification (but who are NOT directly affiliated with Trados or its training and certification program). Does having Trados certification really help get jobs? Do outsourcers pay much attention to that, or is it usually enough to have the software and some idea of how to use it?

The greatest advantage is that, in the course of working towards the certification, you find numerous ways of making better use of the software and speeding up your work processes.

Time lost when trying to use a program that you do not fully understand is not to be underestimated.

Therefore, regardless of whether the clients may be interested in your having the certification or not, you will earn more (per hour) as a result of what you learn.... See more
