Where can I find it? Oct 1, 2010

Does anyone have of a copy of this or know where it is still posted on the Internet? It seems it is no longer available on PEN's website.

It's still online Oct 1, 2010

Hi,
The handbook is still on the PEN site: http://www.pen.org/page.php/prmID/271
I don't know why, but it seems to be accessible only through the search function, I couldn't find the corresponding menu on the start page.

Thank you Roomy and Henry Jul 31, 2013

Thank you both for the link. It is very useful and shows how a contract should be; I was asked to translate a book, which I would love to do, but the contract was very one-sided- it offered a miserly rate of $0.008, then royalties begin after 10,000, at 1%, and shared between translators of the book, as I won't be doing it all; they need the translation soon. There was nothing written how I am to check for number of books sold either. I am sorry not to be doing the translation, but the contract ... See more

I am sorry not to be doing the translation, but the contract was too wordy, seemed to cover the agency only, and no advance payment either, as in that contract. Very short and includes everything a serious agency should put, to the benefit of the translator and the agency. Thank you very much for posting-came at the right time too.Collapse

You can access the HTML files here:

There may be a copy of the DOC file there somewhere, too.
