I have noticed that there are all sorts of little fun items for kids that we have in English such as the "Roses are Red, violets are blue" poems, Silly little "knock, knock" Jokes or even "riddle me this" riddles.
Does anyone know any really good ones in Spanish or? If you speak another language that is neither Spanish or English, you are also welcome to share as this is strictly for Fun and games and not really for work.

Please share!

I think it would be neat if we shared these childhood treats. With the Holidays coming up I thought it would be something fun to share and maybe borrow and use on any children in our lives!

Thanks for your input ahead of time

Happy Holidays for those celebrating!

Los maderos de San Juan Dec 12, 2005

I am not sure whether or not I did hear my kids singing when they were young:

Aserín, aserán, los maderos de San Juan.
Piden pan, no les dan.
Piden queso, no les dan.
Piden hueso, sí les dan.
Se emborrachan y se van.

Sana , sanita Dec 13, 2005

Sana, sanita,

culito de rana,

si no sanas hoy,

sanarás mañana.

Sana, sanita,

bolita de gato,

si no sanas hoy,

sanarás dentro de un rato.

One I loved (and my daughter also) Dec 13, 2005

Un elefante se balanceaba
Sobre la tela de una araña,
Cuando veía que resistía
Fueron a llamar a otro elefante.
Dos elefantes se balanceaban
Sobre la tela de una araña,
Cuando veían que resistía
Fueron a llamar a otro elefante.

Tres elefantes…
Cuatro elefantes…
Cinco elefantes…

Etcétera.

(size of 'etcetera' depends on how long it takes your daughter/son to fall asleep.)...

Elephants in English Dec 13, 2005

I always thought that poem about the elephants originated in English, but I could be wrong.

"One elephant began to play
Upon a spider's web one day..."

I think this has been mentioned in a forum before somewhere.

You mean my dad is not the author?

Most of the songs we (people in Argentina) used to sing at childhood were originated in Spain (Mambrú se fue a la guerra, which SCARED me, to mention one). This one may have been originated in English, Jack. I don't know... All I know is that I remember having reached unbelievable numbers (ciento veinticuatro elefantes se balanceaban... )

And I think Mambrú se fue a la guerra originated in France.

What are all the lyrics to Mambrú? Dec 13, 2005

Do you have them? That song used to scare me too.

What was the name of the one that goes something like:

Vamos Ambos

Ma-ta-ri-re-ri-re-ro

Qué quiere usted

Ma-ta-ri-re-ri-re-ro

Does anyone remember this one and know the lyrics to this one?

Keep them coming! I love this!

¿Dónde están las llaves?

Yo tengo un castillo,
matarile, rile, rile.
Yo tengo un castillo,
matarile, rile, ron chimpón.

Dónde están las llaves,
matarile, rile, rile.
Dónde están las llaves,
matarile, rile, ron chimpón.

En el fondo del mar,
matarile, rile, rile.
En el fondo del mar,
matarile, rile, ron chimpón.

Quién irá a buscarlas,
matarile, rile, rile.
Quién irá a buscarlas,
matarile, rile, ron chimpón.

Irá Carmencita,
matarile, rile, rile.
Irá Carmencita,
matarile, rile, ron chimpón.

Qué oficio le pondrá,
matarile, rile, ron chimpón.

Le pondremos peinadora,
matarile, rile, rile.
Le pondremos peinadora,
matarile, rile, ron chimpón.

Este oficio tiene multa,
matarile, rile, rile.
