OK, I finally tried Bing (I always use Google), but it seems IT CAN'T SEARCH FOR EXACT STRINGS!?! What am I doing wrong?

Michael

PS: I first asked this question on Twitter (https://twitter.com/michaelbeijer/status/664185377868107776 ), but no one replied, so I thought I would try here.

No problems here either. Could it be the shape of the quotation marks? An alternative would be to use dots rather than spaces (and no quotation marks):

Mowcow.is.a.beautiful.city

Cheers,

Hans

Possible workarounds? Nov 12, 2015

Location seems to be one issue. Here in the UK, using bing.com or bing.co.uk, I get the same results as you. However, using bing.fr, I can reproduce Adrien's results.

Stop words, such as "a" and "is" within the string seem to be another issue. Sticking with bing.co.uk or bing.com, it is still possible to reproduce Adrien's results using a preceding "+", i.e. +"Moscow is a very beautiful city"

I suppose the fact that I haven't heard anyone complain about this yet here on the site shows just how many people are actually using Bing. In any case, I will try it out for a week or so, as I am curious what Microsoft are up to.

... it also shows how tremendously slow vetting is on this forum.
