Hi,

This post is to help my father get back into interpreting. He's had several interpreting contracts ( I believe they're called) with a few large companies, but not much (amounting to a few hundred £ and about 20 hours ish). Mainly with Capita and Talkbase.

Hi,

This post is to help my father get back into interpreting. He's had several interpreting contracts ( I believe they're called) with a few large companies, but not much (amounting to a few hundred £ and about 20 hours ish). Mainly with Capita and Talkbase.

However, suddenly he had got taken off Capita's interpreter database because new rules set in that you must have 100+ hours. So, he can't get any contracts now. He's been very positively reviewed by his (few) past contracts and he really enjoyed it - are there any similar websites I can get him back on so he can build up the hours?

He also lacks any interpreting qualifications but as he is one of the only few interpreters in the north of England for his specific niche language, he did get call outs. Where should I look to get him 'registered' (is that the word) as a legit interpreter? Any cheapish options, as the ones we had looked at cost several thousand pounds.

His past contracts have been with the NHS, court and law enforcement. If that helps.

Also - sorry if this is the wrong sub.. I couldn't really find an /r/interpreting
