Specialty fields Feb 24, 2013

You could organize them by specialty fields for example. Technical, medical, IT related etc. Or mention the `best ones`and say that more information can be requested.

You gave me a new task for tomorrow...doing the same, organizing my C.V.!

Length of the Resume Feb 24, 2013

I will comment on the length of the final product, your resume. In my opinion, a good resume should not exceed 1 or 2 pages maximum. If it is longer than that, the chances that you will be eliminated in the selection process are very high. Therefore, I would go through your whole experience, and try to select only those jobs that are RELEVANT to the particular job you are applying. I know that doing this for each and every job you apply should be time consuming. So, you might want to do this 'selecting' only once. That is all right, too. Just make sure that you select those jobs that you really would like to work at again. They will hopefully help to get you a job that you would be happy to work.Collapse

Take care not to bore your reader Feb 24, 2013

Date order certainly isn't the best way as date is largely irrelevant. Like everything else on the CV, the best order is best first: your reader will only want to spend a couple of minutes, maybe only a few seconds, on your CV, so you need to get the best to them in those first few instants.

So, think first about what you want to do in the future. Your top specialisation in your ProZ.com profile is Automotive, so maybe that's what will come first. Not every job you've ever done in this field, but an idea of the type(s) of jobs you've handled and maybe the type(s) of company - no need to name names. Remember that, although what's important for the CV is your past experience, what's really important for the reader is your future performance, so what you need to do is build their confidence in you as the translator of their text(s). They really aren't interested in exactly how many words you have done, for whom, when, and where.
