Hello!

I have finished my MA degree in translation studies and I have recently received the national scholarship of my country to pursue my PhD degree, by research, in Translation studies (Arabic-English) in the UK. However, I cannot reach a decision whether to join Leeds or Salford. Hi Rafee,
For what it's worth... I chose Salford for my BA back in the mid-1980s. I was interested in a practical rather than theoretical approach to language and translation, but your priorities as a PhD student may be different.

Did you take a look at the info. on the language department's website? http://www.languages.salford.ac.uk/staff/academic-staff/staff_arabic.php
There are detailed profiles of all the instructors - do any of their research interests match yours?

I was more than happy with my decision back then and would not hesitate to recommend Salford. Good luck with your decision!

Sarah
