Hi,

I have been working mainly as an interpreter in the past few years. Now, I would like to get into the subtitling business. Would any experienced translator in this field be willing to give me some tips or recommend appropriate training courses?

Hi,

I have been working mainly as an interpreter in the past few years. Now, I would like to get into the subtitling business. Would any experienced translator in this field be willing to give me some tips or recommend appropriate training courses?

I would also be willing to help an experienced subtitling translator for free (in exchange for some guidance) or pay a reasonable fee to a potential mentor. My pair is Czech to English, English to Czech and I am currently located in LA.

Thank you very much,

Lenka

Some info Jan 14, 2004

Hai

I used to work for a subtitling company in The Netherlands but it was not really my cup of tea, so to speak.
However, there is a site here in The Netherlands (in English and Dutch) that could be of some help perhaps. (I do not know how to link you directly to that page, sorry)
http://www.ondertiteling.net/
(you can click on English).
Best of luck!

Cheers

Hi,

Thank you very much for your help. I will definitely check the site.

May I ask why subtitling was not "your cup of tea" ?

Thank you,

Lenka
