The fax number is probably a shared one in the office building where that law firm resides (REMBRANDT TOWER, AMSTELPLEIN 1, 1096 HA AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS). The number also appears to be used by the Thai Consulate.



Enter the fax number into the search field of this reverse look-up directory: http://zoekopnummer.ath.cx/



It may be worth contacting both parties to ask them if they know of a forwarding address for their less than honourable neighbour.



However, if you do really suspect that it is the law firm or the consulate that has been less than honourable with you, you could write them both a letter asking for an explanation and sending a copy of the letter to the professional body for lawyers in the Netherlands. See Evert\'s post above.
