Every year, since 2004, O-Töne takes place in the MuseumsQuartier (MQ) in Vienna in July and August. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the MQ, the popular Austrian literary reading festival O-Töne is offering a very special program that has been expanded to include European writers. After a pre-opening reading with award-winning Hungarian author Péter Esterházy on June 20, the familiar open air readings begin, this year organized as high-caliber Austro-European double features on a shared theme selected by O-Töne curator Thomas Keul. O-Töne 2011 will open on July 7 with a celebration including traditional music. The festival then continues each Thursday through August 25, wandering through various courtyards in the MQ.
Roel Verschueren has been invited to represent Belgium, and reads from his latest translated novel "Schweig wenn du sprichst" (published by Picus Verlag/Wien), on Thursday July 28th, in duo with his friend, writer and film director Titus Selge, who worked on the translation of the book first published in Dutch in 2008 ("Zwijg als je praat", by Lemmens/NL).
