Hi Dutch speaking translators, I need your help finding a vet in Hoek van Holland as I am taking the ferry from here to the UK in a months time. My 2 dogs need a tick and tape worm treatment with documentation carried by a vet to enter the UK. Unfortunately I don't speak Dutch so I don't even know hot to google it And if anyone has any touristy tips for Hoek van Holland, I'd love to know! | | | M_Logmans Local time: 10:36 Dutch to English + ... help with Google | Jul 18, 2008 |
Hi Ivana, there are quite a lot of vets in that region, so I thought I'd help you google for them. vet = dierenarts veterinary clinic = dierenkliniek Some specialise in what they call 'gezelschapsdieren' - animals that keep people company, such as dogs. dog, dogs = hond, honden tick, ticks = teek, teken tape worm = lintworm If you google this, plus 'Hoek van Holland' or perhaps 'Rotterdam', I'm sure... Since you work in Danish, I think you'll be able to recognise the contact details and such, perhaps even get the gist of the website texts. I don't know your means of travelling or the route you're taking. I live in Apeldoorn, which is not really close to Hoek van Holland. I only know vets in my own region. But if you travel by car or train, it may be worth while to spend a day or two in this region (Veluwe) as well. Good luck! Margreet ▲ Collapse | | | Thanks, Magreet | Jul 18, 2008 |
I am travelling by train (with two small children and my husband) so ideally we need a vet very near the port and our hotel - travelling to Rotterdam even if it's close is not top of my list after a 10 hour train ride from Denmark I only managed to find one, and it's in a prime location, but it appears to be specialised in homeopathy, will you have look at it for me? I am worried that it's not a traditional vet, if you... Hi again Ivana, sorry, my previous reply was posted while I was logged in with my corporate account. I checked the website, and this is the important part: * De dierenkliniek In de dierenkliniek wordt eerstelijns diergeneeskunde uitgeoefend. Dit wil zeggen dat men hier terecht kan voor de gebruikelijke reguliere behandelingen, entingen, gebitssaneringen, bloedonderzoek en de meest gangbare operaties.* Translation: The animal clinic.... Dit wil zeggen dat men hier terecht kan voor de gebruikelijke reguliere behandelingen, entingen, gebitssaneringen, bloedonderzoek en de meest gangbare operaties.* Translation: The animal clinic. In the animal clinic, basic animal medicine is practised. This means one can recieve common treatments here, vaccinations, dental care, bloodwork and the most common surgeries. So you need to make sure you get an appointment at the clinic, not the Instituut. The latter does indeed specialise in homeopathy. Good luck! Margreet ▲ Collapse | |
