I'm evaluating this DVX, but I cannot find where to click for importing existing tms. The help-menu is rather sparse with information

Please help.
Thanks
Heinrich

File->Import->[Welcome to the import wizard]->Next, select "TMX" Mar 18, 2008

Open or create a DMX TM, then:
File->Import->[Welcome to the import wizard]->Next, select "TMX" , -> etc.

1. Create a new DVX TM (File > New)
2. After this, in the TM window click File > Import > File or Database.
3. Choose TMX

I have only Editor Mar 18, 2008

After the installation I find only one entry in Programs, this seems to be the Editor, and I cannot create any TM.
Seems this evaluation version is quite restricted.

Heinrich

full product Mar 18, 2008

Try visiting http://www.atril.com/, choose Downloads > Déjà Vu X full product / free evaluation (*).
This should get you a full version of DVX (30 days free trial).

I chose full product, but in the end I have only editor.

(*) The type of dongle (for full product) or code (for free evaluation) will determine the version: Workgroup, Professional, Standard or Editor.

Hi Heinrich,

You can use the free editor version to receive projects from agencies using DV.

You can also download and test the demo version (professional) for 30 days. DV is an easy to learn program for users of SDLX. The demo version is not limited, you can create, import and export projects, translation memories, terminology databases, alignment workfiles. After installation I only have the editor. Perhaps they have changed things.

Did you activate it? Mar 18, 2008

They certainly have not changed things (why should they after more than 10 years), but you will have to apply for an evaluation code (Help - Registration). After entering your evaluation code (sent to you by e-mail), all limitations are dropped and your evaluation can actually start in the first place.

Having got past the first hurdle, one of the best ways to get started with DVX is to download and follow the "DVX Getting started guide" tutorial using the two small sample files that you can find in the "Documentation" section of the Atril website.
By the way, a new version (7.5.303) was released yesterday so you might like to upgrade if you haven't done so already. This won't affect the evaluation code.

BR,
David Turner
