谢谢BETTY啦,今天咱没好东西吃但至少有好东西看了。 那‘绿波廊酒楼’,咱八十年代虽住杭州可常有机会去。那时门面窗棂都还是漆成绿色的,什么时候改漆成红色的了? 一看那网站,真是“红雨随心翻作浪”。

要说那译文嘛,还可以啦,请个市外办的小翻译弄一弄,希望能把“古色古香,具有浓郁的中国民族氛围”的情调也丝毫不漏地“翻过去”,等于逼他在绿波廊里掌勺烧出一桌象样的西餐来,这真是难为人了。 国内好的中译英肯定有,如果商家真正觉得外文版重要的话,化点钱,让当地的中文译者和在华的欧美人士联手一译一校,结果就大不一样啰。

不过他们如愿意花三美元一个字叫我译的话,我争取把他们的广告译得十分诱人,“温文尔雅”。 让克林顿看到后下次再来,而且带上莱温斯基小姐。这样他们也会觉得化点翻译费其实很值得噢。

Just imagine how they would translate 停车坐爱枫林晚

... Way too literal, IMO. Something like stop in at, stop off at, stop over at would be a lot better.

Depending on the emphasis and interpretation of the original (-- those are their own original Chinese verses, aren't they?), you could even say break off from other activities, go out of one's way, make a special trip, pay a special visit, etc... But certainly not parking one's car somewhere

大姐你就用電飯煲好了。把東菇與淹好的雞用鑊炒至6-7成,待飯水干前下料,飯好後再等10分鐘。GOOD LUCK!

从以前看 David, stone 等人的帖子略知一二, 我看咱们这种人平时吃饭反而比国内要简单多了. pk 是有陈太太精心照料, so he's in a different league. Plus he said himself he's almost a fixture in Boston's Chinatown, very well-known
