Yes, that snow around Lakeway was very impressive from a couple of years ago! I was looking for a clip of today's snow around Lakeway for you, but it seems like nobody bothered to post any footage from that area on YouTube. I'm sure it snowed over there though, 'cause the weather system came from the west in a long, wide swath.

Speaking of flying around Austin, that incident of a small plane deliberately flying into a building happened right around the Arboretum along 183, about a mile from where I live. I almost got on a bike to see for myself what was going on. But images from the boob tube was real enough; we had wall-to-wall local news coverage all day long.

Snow in Lakeway Feb 24, 2010

Steve,

Thank you for your effort to look for the clip for me. Yes, it also snowed in Lakeway area. That’s really unusual!

I was surprised by the Joe Stack plane crash. I’ve never imagined such an incident would happen in Austin. In the video clip “Flying around Austin/Lakeway”, we could clearly see the Texas State Capitol and the University of Texas Tower. I believe it will no longer be so easy to fly a private plane in that area in future.
