All,

Metrics are important for any company - they provide a way to measure performance, track progress, and catch problems before they occur.

At the recent ALC 2008 conference, I presented a session on metrics, and the type used in the language industry. The presentation is attached here for review.

Within the presentation, some of the key metrics I listed were:

  • Earnings
  • Project Backlog
  • Pipeline
  • Customer/Project Margin
  • Project Budget versus Actual
  • Client Satisfaction
  • Quality (File and Content)
  • Billable Time
  • Customer Acquisition Cost
  • New/Existing Sales
  • Employee Retention
  • Vendor Ratings
  • Revenue per employee

Based on the collective exeperience, what other key metrics would you suggest should be tracked?

Thanks,

Andre Pellet
