Optimistic agencies Thread poster: Madeleine MacRae Klintebo

Received an email today, Friday 2 Jan, from an agency that is looking for a freelance PM for 2 months - starting Monday 5 Jan... Good: They are based in the same city I am - London - so they appear to have made some research. Bad: Do they seriously expect professionals to sit rolling their thumbs waiting for last minute requests?

This doesn't necessarily indicate poor planning, somebody could have let them down at the last minute.

But if that was the case, I would have expected them to a) communicate with their client about a possible extension and b) ask me how soon I would be able to sort their mess out. PS. I used to be an occasional end client and without me mentioning anything about deadlines, agencies would fall over themselves quoting unrealistic ones.

Why don't you try this posición, just for a change. If youn don't have importante projects to work in, why don't you give it a try? I guess you don't have nothing to loose.

If I did have an empty 2-month slot in my calendar, I would seriously reconsider my career choice. I guess you don't have nothing [sic] to loose[sic]. Sorry, but how did you come to that conclusion? Edited to add a question.
