Dear translation professionals,
I am working in a mechanical engineering company, where our technical writing department plans to implement a translation memory tool including a powerful terminology tool. I know that I can find quite a lot of discussions related to the best TMS in this forum and across the internet, but my main focus is the TMS Across and its terminology tool crossTerm or even better a comparison of Across and SDL Trados. Across' market share doesn't seem to be the lowest, however, it is quite difficult to find current user impressions about it.
Ideally, you know both tools and can tell me something about the specific pros and cons in terms of speed, stability, intuitiveness, usability and so on. I know that Across is criticized from time to time, but their TMS and terminology tool have undergone a continuous development over the years and nowadays include features like a workflow tool for terminology discussions just as Trados, which is why it would be very interesting to read some comments by translation project managers or translators who have been working with Across in the last few years. Quite a lot of comments concerning Across are bit old... and maybe outdated?
Please let me hear your opinion about the TMS and/or its terminology tool, any comment is appreciated. ▲ Collapse
