Alison Riddell-Kachur (Germany)
Bio: Born in Scotland in 1969, Alison studied German and Polish at Glasgow University and moved to Germany in 1992, where she gained extensive work experience in the investment banking and real estate sectors before becoming a full-time translator and editor in 1997. Alison holds a German diploma in marketing (Fachkauffrau für Marketing), a German translation qualification (Staatlich geprüfte Übersetzerin) and also holds a diploma in business administration (Betriebswirt) – her thesis was on quality management in the translation industry. She is also a member of the German translators’ association (BDÜ) and moderates the English and German-English subcommunities on proz.com.
