What a wonderful idea to start a wiki! I have participated in a wiki in a different field and found it to be extremely beneficial. One of my favorite quotes is, "As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another"(Proverbs 27:17). May we all sharpen one another with our knowledge about the great profession of translation.
Warm regards,

| | How to translate articles in Wiki? | Jan 28, 2011 |
Dear all,
I like to find information from Wiki and found it very useful. But, unfortunately, there are still few number of good article that is not translated into my language. Which I am worry that not many people in my country can understand English very well, unless if they had taken course or study abroad. How can I translate the article in the Wiki? Thanks for the help.

To create a translated version of an article in the wiki, you can first create the page, using the language code. For example:
http://wiki.proz.com/wiki/index.php/Translation_in_Argentina
The translation in Argentina article, in English, was created in a Spanish version as well by naming a page "Translation in Argentina/es" ("es" being the code for Spanish).
A tag, {{Languages}} is then inserted in the different article versions, linking them together.
The language code for Indonesian is "id".
If you need more help with this, just let me know which article or articles you would like to work on and I can set the pages up for you. Thanks!

Indeed this is a timely and welcome project for translation professionals everywhere. Anything which encourages collaboration + online meetings between translators can only be a good thing. May the project continue to grow and prosper. Yes, "As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another" - one of the better proverbs, I always thought.
